Cleary not happy with extra time in NRL

6:09 am on 27 April 2009

The New Zealand Warriors coach Ivan Cleary has again asked the question why there needs to be golden point extra-time in the National Rugby League.

The Warriors and Melbourne Storm fought out a 14-all draw on Saturday night, with both side's missing numerous field goal attempts on a wet night.

Cleary wasn't happy that referee Tony Archer called a knock-on against Stacey Jones when they were lining up a shot in extra time.

The coach says he's happy with a draw and wonders why there needs to be extra time when referees are generally loathed to give penalties.

The Warriors are 9th on the table and are away to the St george Illawarra Dragons next weekend.
