The Northern Districts cricket stalwart Grant Bradburn has been named as the new head coach of the Northern Knights.

He took over the team in a caretakers role during the summer when Andy Moles took up the Black Caps coaching position.

Bradburn played for the side he will coach for 16 years and during that time played 18 internationals, 127 first class games and 138 one day games.

Since his playing days he has been involved in a number of coaching roles including the ND A team for the past three years.

Bradburn has been employed by ND Cricket since 2003 and in the past 12 months has been heavily involved in the organisation's high performance programme.
