Isaac Ross always dreamt of being an All Black

It's perhaps not too surprising to see Isaac Ross make the step up from the Crusaders to the All Blacks - he's the son of former All Black Jock Ross and Black Fern Christine Ross.

The 25-year-old says he's always dreamed of making the team.

Mils Muliaina has been named All Blacks captain in place of the injured Richie McCaw and there are three new caps in the squad announced at Eden Park.

Bay of Plenty openside flanker Tanerau Latimer comes in for McCaw. The other new players are Canterbury's prop Wyatt Crockett and lock Isaac Ross.

The most notable omission from the squad is Wellington No.8 Rodney So'oialo, who's taking time out until the Tri Nations to rest and rehabilitate a neck problem.

And in rugby league, the Warriors have avoided a four-game losing streak by beating Wests Tigers 14-nil in miserable wet and cold conditions at Mt Smart in Auckland.
