The All Whites coach Ricki Herbert has given 17-year-old striker Chris Wood a big tick, after the former Waikato FC player made his international debut against Tanzania.

The England-based teenager came onto the field after 55 minutes in New Zealand's 2-1 loss at Dar es Salaam, in place of Celtic striker Chris Killen, and Ricki Herbert says the West Bromwich Albion player impressed with his pace and work ethic.

The All Whites next warm up match before the Confederations Cup is against Botswana on Sunday morning.
