Ryder decision expected in next 24 hours

A decision on Jesse Ryder's continued participation in the Twenty20 Cricket World Cup in England is expected in the next 24 hours.

The Black Caps batsman remains under observation in a London hospital with a mystery illness which team manager Dave Currie says could be a significant abdominal infection.

The Otago batsman Aaron Redmond, who's been playing in the UK, will join the New Zealand team in Nottingham where they play their first Super Eights match on Friday against Ireland.

The top order batsman Ross Taylor will be rested from the game to recover

from a hamstring twinge, while a decision on skipper Daniel Vettori, who's had a minor shoulder injury, will be made in the morning.
