The two time Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso says if there's a repeat of the tyre problems which plagued the British Grand Prix, at this weekend's German Grand Prix someone will die.

Five drivers suffered high-speed rear-tyre blowouts during Monday's British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

Tyre manufacturers Pirelli have bowed to pressure and will change the internal belt on the rears tyres with kevlar being used rather than the steel that has been used during the 2013 season.

Despite agreeing to the changes Pirelli blame the Formula One teams for the recent problems, saying they've being mounting the rear tyres incorrectly, been running low tyre pressures and have put the tyres on extreme cambers.

Alonso who drives for Ferarri says if the problems continue the race at the Nurburgring can't go ahead.
