Horwill, Genia ruled out of Super Rugby derby

The Wallabies duo, James Horwill and Will Genia, have both been ruled out of the Queensland Reds' Super Rugby derby against the New South Wales Waratahs.

The Reds skipper Horwill has a calf strain while the vice-captain Genia is suffering from a knee cartilage injury as well as a fractured bone in his left hand.

Both players took part in last weekend's third-test loss to the British and Irish Lions with the complaints but have been ruled out, with the Reds to play a Super Rugby final next week.

Horwill says he's bitterly disappointed not to be taking on the Waratahs.

The mercurial five-eighth Quade Cooper's likely to take on the captaincy in Horwill and Genia's absence.
