Sharks edge out Raiders

Cronulla have cast aside their off-field dramas to register a third straight NRL win, downing the Raiders 24-22 at Canberra Stadium.

The Sharks scored five tries to the Raiders' four, and move to 15th, two points clear of the bottom placed Sydney Roosters,.

Coach Ricky Stuart praised his embattled team, who only three days ago lost chief executive Tony Zappia in the wake of workplace misconduct allegations.

Meanwhile St George Illawarra are back to the top, courtesy of a 32-18 home win over North Queensland.

The Dragons are on 20 points ahead of the Bulldogs and Titans on points differential with the Storm fourth on 19, one clear of Brisbane.

North Queensland, Penrith and Newcastle complete the top eight on 16 points two clear of Manly with the Warriors 11th on 13 after their home win over the Knights.

Parramatta play Wests Tigers tonight to complete round 14.
