2 more added to NZ athletics squad for world champs

Javelin thrower Stuart Farquhar and 800 metres runner Angie Smit have been added to the New Zealand team for the World Athletics Championships in Moscow next month.

31-year-old Farquhar's most recent competition was the Lausanne leg of the Diamond League in Switzerland where he finished third with a throw of 80.42 metres.

21-year-old Smit gained her qualifying time at her first senior championships event, this week's World University Games in Kazan, Russia.

The New Zealand team also includes shot-putter Valerie Adams, marathon runner Mary Davies, decathlete Brent Newdick, 50k walker Quentin Rew, 10 thousand metre runners Jake Robertson and Kimberley Smith and 1500 metre runner Nick Willis.

Athletes still with selection chances are shot-putter Tom Walsh, 5000 metre runner Zane Robertson and hammer thrower Julia Ratcliffe.
