Drivers brace for rare double duty at Toronto Indy

12:13 pm on 13 July 2013

New Zealand driver Scott Dixon will start on the third row of the grid at the latest IndyCar race in Toronto - one of three doubleheaders in this year's racing schedule.

Dixon, who won his first race of the season last week in Pennysylvania, qualified sixth for the first of back-to-back races on Sunday and Monday, while his Target team-mate Dario Franchitti is on pole.

Dixon says the double-header will be twice as hard, and physically and mentally demanding as the drivers race on a bumpy 11-turn 2.82-kilometre temporary circuit under a broiling Canadian summer sun.
