The Super Rugby round robin has finished with the defending champion Chiefs on top of the table after beating their 26-16 win over the Blues in Auckland.
The Chiefs now have a week off to prepare for their home semi final, and coach Dave Rennie says his team needs the break.
The Bulls have also secured a home semi final after qualifying second following their 30-13 loss to the Stormers this morning in Cape Town.
The Crusaders will host the Reds in next week's quarterfinals after the Queenslanders pipped the Waratahs 14-12 last night in Sydney.
The Cheetahs travel to Canberra for the other quarterfinal, following the Brumbies 21-15 loss to the Force.
