The National Rugby League front-runners the Bulldogs have had some more good news as Jamal Idris and Ben Roberts signed new contracts to the end of the 2011 season.

In a year when the new-look Bulldogs have risen from being wooden spooners last year, chief executive Todd Greenberg described the retention of towering teenage 18-year-old centre Idris and five eighth Roberts as among the club's greatest achievements in 2009.

Idris has made a big impression while establishing himself as a regular first grader with some tipping him as a future superstar.

Roberts, 24, who has played five Tests for New Zealand, is in career-best form and was man of the match with an outstanding performance in the Bulldogs last start win over Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium.
