The All Blacks captain Richie McCaw says he's excited about being back playing rugby.
Mccaw ended his sabbatical from first class play with a last-quarter effort in the Crusaders' Super Rugby elimination final win against the Reds on Saturday night in Christchurch.
Mccaw says time away from the game hasn't been about freshening up but admits his enthusiasm has been piqued.
He says he hadn't lost his appetite for top-level rugby but the sabbatical reminded him why he plays the game, and the excitement of getting out on the field and his team playing so well has his enthusiasm levels right up there.
McCaw says you don't play the game forever so you want to make the most of every time you play.
