Jason Eaton heading to Japon

The former All Black Jason Eaton has signed a six month contract with Japanese club the Shining Arcs.

Eaton played 15 Tests for New Zealand after first being selected in 2005.

His last appearance for the All Blacks was on the end of year tour in 2009 .

After playing his first provincial match for Manawatu in 2002, Eaton joined Taranaki in 2005 where he played his first mach for the amber and blacks against the British and Irish Lions.

The 30 year old has since played for Taranaki on 52 occasions including seven Ranfurly Shield defences.

Taranaki Head Coach Colin Cooper thanked the hard-working Eaton for his contribution to the province calling him a loyal and respected leader.

Eaton has played Super Rugby for the Hurricanes since 2006 and it's not known whether he'll be available for the franchise next season.
