Wilkinson goes low in Idaho

7:32 am on 26 July 2013

The New Zealand golfer Tim Wilkinson continues to make excellent progress in his bid to return to the PGA tour next year.

On the second tier Web.com tour, the Palmerston North left-hander has posted an 8-under par 63 to take a one shot lead during the opening round of the Boise Open in Idaho.

Wilkinson didn't drop a shot and birdied his last 5 holes.

The two other New Zealanders, Steven Alker and Danny Lee, who're also well placed to qualify for the 2014 PGA tour, haven't yet teed off.
