Cruden predicts epic semi-final against Crusaders

7:02 pm on 27 July 2013

The Chiefs playmaker Aaron Cruden is predicting an epic semi-final encounter against the Crusaders tonight in Hamilton.

Despite having home advantage, the Chiefs are considered the underdogs as the Crusaders impressive end of season form has produced four wins from their last four games.

Cruden says two quality sides are going toe to toe in do or die rugby.

He says he's expecting an intense, physical clash, a high level of rugby and a great spectacle

Meanwhile, the Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder says the strength of his bench could hold the key to victory this evening.

Blackadder has named the same 22 that rolled Quensland last week 38 - 9 and has left the All Black captain Richie McCaw in the reserves.

The coach says he trusts all the players on his bench to make an impact in the game as they've been doing all season in pressure situations.

The match kicks off at 7.35 in Waikato Stadium.
