The Manawatu golfer Tim Wilkinson has further boosted his prospects of promotion to next year's US PGA tour after another top 15 finish on the second tier web.com tour.

Wilkinson's finished tied for 12th at the Boise Open in Idaho, his ninth top 15 finish this season.

Wilkinson is looking forward to another stint on the PGA Tour, where he won one and a half million dollars in his rookie 2008 season.

The following year though suffered a torn ligament in his right thumb and lost his card.

Fellow New Zealanders Danny Lee and Steven Alker had forgettable final rounds at the Boise tournament, with Lee slipping to 33rd and Alker fading to 40th.

Wilkinson's now ninth on the tour money list and Lee eleventh, with Alker at 22nd putting him on the cusp of a PGA tour card, as the top 25 gain fulling playing rights for 2014.

In 2002 New Zealand had its largest ever presence on the PGA Tour with five players Craig Perks, Frank Nobilo, Phil Tataurangi, Grant Waite and Michael Long all having full tour cards.
