Hate mail sent to politician trying to ban Redskins

A United States congressman from American Samoa, Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin, says he's been receiving hate mail from fans of the NFL football team the Washington Redskins.

The congressman is behind proposed legislation to cancel federal trademark registrations using the word "redskin", saying it's offensive.

The NFL says the team's name has a positive meaning while the team's owners say they'll never change the name.
