Chiefs v Brumbies a one-off

9:16 am on 3 August 2013

Super Rugby finalists the Chiefs and the ACT Brumbies will only play each other for the first time this season when they contest tonight's final in Hamilton.

The quirk of the draw means the last time these two sides played one another was last year in pool play last year when the Chiefs won 29-22 in Hamilton.

The Chiefs have scored more points than any other side throughout the competition this year despite averaging the least amount of possession out of any of the other 14 sides in the competition.

The Chiefs lineout has also been one of the worst performing in the competition winning only 78 percent of their own throw-ins.

The Brumbies on the other hand are the most penalised team in the competition, conceding 11 per game, a reputation which could hurt them in a tight final.

Overall the Brumbies hold the head to advantage between the sides winning 11 of their 18 encounters, while the Chiefs have won six.

Brumbies coach Jake White has named an unchanged side.
