Cedric Jackson won't be back for champion Breakers

The American point guard Cedric Jackson, who led the Breakers to consecutive ANBL basketball titles in his two years with the Auckland-based club, has announced he won't be returning.

The Breakers general manager Richard Clarke says they had offered Jackson a contract but anticipated he might not return with greater money on offer overseas.

Jackson, who won the league's most valuable player award last season, has had brief stints at three NBA clubs and took part in recent NBA summer leagues, but has so far failed to pick up a contract.

Clake says if he can't break into an NBA side, Jackson is likely to head to Europe.
