Team New Zealand gets impromptu practice with Artemis

Team New Zealand's had some impromptu race practice with the Swiss America's Cup syndicate Artemis, on San Francisco Bay.

The teams had never before lined up together in their AC72's and Team New Zealand had been due to practice with Luna Rossa but the Italian syndicate returned to the dock before any practice could take place.

Artemis were nearby and Team New Zealand skipper Dean Barker says a shouted conversation across the water quickly arranged another training partner.

The two teams undertook five practice starts with Barker saying they a lot.

Artemis and Luna Rossa will contest the semi-finals of the Louis Vuitton Cup challenger series with the first race on Wednesday.

The winner will then race Team New Zealand in the Louis Vuitton final with the winner then contesting the America's Cup with holders Oracle.
