The All Blacks first five-eighth Dan Carter has confirmed details of his extended break from the game.
Carter will take a six-month break from the game following the All Blacks end-of-year tour in November, he'll miss the majority of the Crusader's Super Rugby season as well as the June internationals.
Carter says the extended break will allow him the chance to refresh and recover after more than a decade of top-level rugby.
The 31-year-old 95-test veteran is in his 11th season of professional rugby.
