NZRU makes offer to Sonny Bill Williams

New Zealand rugby boss Steve Tew has confirmed that the NZRU has made code-hopper Sonny Bill Williams an offer.

It's believed they've offered him a three-year deal which caters for Williams to play out the 2014 National Rugby League season with the Sydney Roosters, in a bid to lure him back.

Williams, a 19-test All Black, has made no secret of his desire to return to the Chiefs once he meets his NRL commitments in a bid to be part of the All Blacks squad that defends their title at the 2015 World Cup.

Williams has also been linked to a New Zealand sevens berth for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Tew has acknowledged that an offer has been made to SBW and his manager Khoder Nasser but nothing has been signed yet.
