New Zealand tennis number one Marina Erakovic is through to the second round of the Cincinnati Masters after upsetting Carla Suarez Navarro of Spain.
Erakovic, who had to qualify for the tournament and is ranked 77th in the world, beat the number 20-ranked Navarro in straight sets.
The Aucklander will play seventh seed Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic in the second round, in a stacked field that includes the world's top 20 players in this lead-up event to the US Open later this month.
