Magic needed to seal home play-off

12:23 pm on 28 June 2009

A win in Perth looms as the biggest hurdle between the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic and a home semi-final with two rounds remaining in the trans-Tasman netball championship.

The Magic play the West Coast Fever this afternoon before going to Adelaide to play the third-placed Thunderbirds so their chances of becoming the first New Zealand team to win in Australia look best in the west.

But coach Noeline Taurua says the different time zone could mean the Magic are a bit lethargic.

And she says after winning only twice last season the Fever have moved up to sixth with five wins and they're enthusiastic, so will be a danger.

The game starts at 4.45pm NZT.
