Elliott disappointted with his troops

The New Zealand Warriors coach Matt Elliott says he's bitterly disappointed that his side was unable to end a losing streak which may have ended their chances of making the NRL play-offs.

The Warriors were beaten 28-24 by Penrith in Auckland, their third straight loss which has resulted in them dropping to 13th on the ladder.

They must win their last 3 matches, starting at Gold Coast next weekend, and hope other results go their way to make the top eight.

Elliott says they didn't play with enough intensity, so he'll be looking at their preparation this week.

He says they didn't end defensive sets very well, giving away penalties, which put them under pressure.

Elliott says he has the belief in what this group is capable of, they just haven't produced it the last 3 weeks
