Kopua sticks with the Magic

Silver Ferns captain Casey Kopua has signed up for another season with the Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic netball franchise.

The 28-year-old links up in the Magic defensive circle once more with fellow international Leana de Bruin, who also recently re-signed with the Magic.

Kopua resisted offers to a move elsewhere in the ANZ Championship next year and her re-signing follows the departures of fellow Ferns Irene van Dyk to the Central Pulse, and Laura Langman to the Northern Mystics.

It will mark Kopua's seventh season with Magic since the inception of the trans-Tasman competition and her 12th with the same team overall.

She's the only foundation player still retaining links with the team.

Kopua and de Bruin join England shooting import Jo Harten and new teenage signings - shooter Brooke Leaver and midcourter Samantha Sinclair.
