The Springbok flanker Schalk Burger has been banned for eight weeks after being found guilty of gouging the eyes of British and Irish Lions winger Luke Fitzgerald early in the rugny second test.
Burger will miss South Africa's first three Tri Nations tets including the first two against the All Blacks in Bloemfontein and Durban.
Earlier, South Africa lost lock Bakkies Botha for two weeks for a dangerous tackle which ended with the Lions prop Adam Jones dislocating a shoulder.
Match commissioner Steve Hinds cited both players, who'll miss the third test after the Springboks clinched the series 2-0 in Pretoria.
