Bledisloe Cup in the cabinet again

9:21 am on 25 August 2013

The All Blacks have beaten the Wallabies 27-16 in Wellington to retain the Bledisloe Cup for an 11th consecutive season.

38,000 people filled Westpac Stadium to watch New Zealand dominate by two tries to one.

Winger Ben Smith followed up his hat-trick of tries in Sydney with both five-pointers in Wellington, while debutant first five eighths Tom Taylor was composed in general play and kicked 14 points.

Fullback Israel Dagg added a penalty when Taylor was receiving medical treatment late in the game.

The Wallabies' points came from three Christian Leali'ifano penalties and a converted late intercept try to Israel Folau.

The Australians have not beaten the All Blacks in New Zealand since 2001.

The result puts the Wallabies at the bottom of the Rugby Championship, after Argentina scored a losing bonus point as South Africa came from behind to win 22-17 in Mendoza.

The Springboks are top on points differential.
