Arsenal into Champions League proper

7:36 am on 29 August 2013

Aaron Ramsey scored twice as Arsenal reached the European Champions League for the 16th consecutive year following a 5-0 aggregate victory over Turkish side Fenerbahce.

Following their opening-day defeat by Aston Villa, this was Arsenal's third successive victory and, ahead of hosting north London rivals Tottenham this weekend, it will have injected fresh confidence into an occasionally fragile side.

Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are already in the group stage.

Meanwhile All Whites striker Chris Wood scored a hat-trick as Leicester beat Carlisle 5-2 in the English League Cup.
