Victoria Azarenka has sent a clear message to her US tennis Open rivals, handing her first round opponent a double bagel at Flushing Meadows.
The Belarusian's 6-0 6-0 win over Germany's, Dinah Pfizenmaier took just over an hour and comes after the defending champion, Serena Williams' convincing win in her first round match.
Azarenka, who was defeated by Williams in last year's final, hit 14 winners and made just 10 unforced errors, but had to fend off three break points on her own serve.
Her next assignment is against Canadian Aleksandra Wozniak.
