New Zealand's Olympic champion Lisa Carrington has reached the K1 200 metres final with another victory at the Canoe Sprint World Championships in Germany, and also won the bronze medal in her unfamiliar K1 500 event.

Carrington was 0.3 seconds off the K1 500 silver and 1.2 seconds off the gold, claimed by Hungarian Danita Kozak.

It was Carrington's first attempt at the World Championship in the longer event.

Her semi victory in her favoured 200 metre distance was slightly slower than her blistering heat win but at just over 40 seconds reflects the slightly tougher conditions all round, with the strong head wind creating a longer race for all competitors.
