Batsman Martin Guptill has been ruled out of the New Zealand cricket tour of Bangladesh in October due to finger and ankle injuries.
Guptill fractured a bone in his right little finger batting in the Caribbean Premier League recently but it's the 26-year-old's right ankle injury that requires surgery and will mean he misses the Bangladesh tour.
A return for the tour to Sri Lanka in November is possible.
