Carter set to face the Pumas

9:23 am on 2 September 2013

Dan Carter appears set to ease the first-five concerns within the All Blacks ahead of this weekend's Rugby Championship clash with Argentina in Hamilton.

Carter missed the first two matches of the series against Australia with a calf strain, but is likely to play against the Pumas this weekend, while utility Beauden Barrett should also be available for selection following a calf injury.

Coach Steve Hansen says they should be able to confirm Carter's participation tomorrow.

Hansen has confirmed that loosie Liam Meesam and prop Owen Franks won't be considered this week because of injuries.

Second five eighth Ma'a Nonu has been struggling with an ankle problem and Hansen says they'll wait to see how he progresses over the next few days.
