New Zealand's most successful surfer Paige Hareb has requalified for her sixth season at the elite level after the final

ASP World Tour qualifying event wrapped up in Spain early this morning.

Hareb had an agonising final event of the qualifying season after being eliminated in the round of 24 surfers and finishing 13th overall.

The result meant that the Taranaki surfer had to rely on results to go her way to remain in the qualification zone.

But at the conclusion of the final heats it was confirmed that Hareb finished the Qualifying Series in eighth place, holding the fifth of six qualifying positions for the 2014 season.

Hareb first competed on the ASP World Tour in 2009, the year which she secured her highest world ranking of eighth. Since then she has placed ninth, twelfth and tenth.

The ASP Women's World Tour caters for the top 16 surfers.
