Boks concerned about player exodus

There's growing concern in South African rugby about the exodus of leading players to club rugby in Europe.

South Africans got a glimpse of their potential rugby future this week when five players from French clubs trickled into their Brisbane hotel to join the rest of the squad ahead of Saturday's Rugby Championship test against Australia.

The former Springboks coach Jake White has warned that South Africa is set to lose many more players to foreign clubs, diluting the domestic game which has been the bedrock of Springbok rugby.

White says South African rugby officials are sending the wrong message to young players by continuing to select them for the national side while they're earning big money overseas, something the New Zealand and Australian Rugby Unions don't allow.
