Welsh rugby legend Bleddyn Williams dies

The Welsh and British and Irish Lions rugby legend Bleddyn Williams has died, aged 86.

Williams was dubbed the 'Prince of Centres' and captained Wales the last time they beat the All Blacks in 1953.

He played played 22 Tests for Wales after making his debut in 1947 and was vice-captain to Ireland's Karl Mullen in the 1950 Lions tour of New Zealand and Australia.

They lost three Tests to the All Blacks and drew one but beat the Wallabies in their two Tests.

Williams played in 20 of the Lions' 29 matches and used his great sidestep and pace to score 13 tries.

He was also a fierce tackler and an inspirational leader.

After he finished playing Williams became a rugby journalist.
