Bob and Mike Bryan's hopes of becoming the first men's doubles team since 1951 to claim a calendar year tennis grand slam have been shattered by Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek at the US Open.
The India-Czech fourth seeds downed the top-seeded American twins 3-6 6-3 6-4 in the semi-finals.
The Bryans, who were defending champions, became the first doubles team to hold all four majors at the same time when they won their third Wimbledon title in July.
