6:25 am on 14 September 2013

New Zealand Cricket will have a new board of directors next week.

Eight recommended directors will be voted on by delegates from the major associations and districts at a Special General Meeting in Auckland today week.

Each recommended director must receive more than 50 percent of the votes cast to be elected.

The eight recommended directors are Sir Richard Hadlee, Geoff Allott, Martin Snedden, Greg Barclay, Neil Craig, Liz Dawson, Stuart Heal and Don Mackinnon.

The eight were selected by an appointments panel headed by New Zealand Cricket president Stephen Boock, and representatives from three Major Assocaitions as well as Sport New Zealand nominee Sir John Wells.

Boock says there was strong interest in the positions due to the process being opened up to anyone who was interested.
