Belgium's rise as a men's footballing power has been underlined in the latest FIFA rankings, which has the nation up to sixth place.

However, England continued to slide down the list to 17th despite collecting four points from their Past two World Cup qualifiers.

Reigning European and world champions Spain remain in first place, with Argentina - who this week clinched qualification for next year's World Cup in Brazil - moving up to second ahead of Germany.

Italy and Colombia complete the top five, but Belgium have climbed four places to sixth this month.

Australia dropped seven places to 53rd.

New Zealand is down 10 places to 67th.
