Race nine of the America's Cup has been abandoned after the 30-knot wind limit was reached on San Francisco Bay.

After narrowly winning the start, Team New Zealand led by four seconds at mark one and seven seconds at mark two before the race was called off.

Earlier in the morning, Oracle Racing won its second race of the regatta by 52 seconds after Team New Zealand nearly capsized on the upwind leg.

The victory erased Oracles two point penalty for cheating in a lead up event, but Team New Zealand still holds a six-nil advantage in the best of 17 series.
