In a huge blow to Cronulla's National Rugby League finals hopes, Sharks playmaker Todd Carney has all but been ruled out of Friday night's clash with Manly due to a hamstring complaint.
Carney hasn't been named in the Sharks side but an official says he will be monitored this week.
Carney suffered the hamstring complaint late in their controversial 20-18 elimination final weekend win over North Queensland.
Meanwhile, Manly has named star fullback Brett Stewart for Friday night's clash at the Sydney Football Stadium.
But the Sea Eagles admitted Stewart still faced a fitness test on a troublesome hamstring strain before receiving the green light.
