World snooker champ called on to explain match fixing comments

The world snooker boss Barry Hearn has asked Ronnie O'Sullivan to explain his comments after the world champion said Stephen Lee is not the only player guilty of match-fixing.

Lee, 38, is awaiting sentence after a tribunal decided he had fixed seven games in 2008 and 2009.

The five-time world champion O'Sullivan said on social media that he'd heard there were many more players who throw snooker matches.

Hearn says the allegations are wholly unacceptable and extremely damaging and if O'Sullivan has names and occasions when match-fixing has occurred, he has a duty to report them.
