Cachopa century helps NZ A to first innings lead over Sri Lanka

A century to Carl Cachopa helped New Zealand A to a first innings lead over Sri Lanka A on day three of their four day match in Kandy.

Cachopa scored 104 as New Zealand made 299 for nine declared, in reply to Sri Lanka's first innings of 252.

New Zealand were 175 for one at one stage but then lost wickets at regular intervals.

Sri Lanka had wiped off the 47 run deficit by stumps to be 153 for three, a lead of 88 with seven wickets in hand.

The fourth and final day is due to begin at 4.30pm this afternoon.
