Savea re-signs with the Hurricanes

All Black Julian Savea has turned down offers from the Crusaders and the Chiefs to re-sign with the Hurricanes super rugby franchise for another two years.

The international winger says he carefully considered his options, but at the end of the day, it was his home province that came out on top.

Wellington Rugby and Hurricanes chief executive James Te Puni says he's thrilled to retain Savea's homegrown talent that will take the field for both Wellington and the Hurricanes for the next two years.

Hurricanes coach Mark Hammett says not only would the team benefit from Savea's decision but the fans as well.
