McCaw on target for big Boks bash

The captain Richie McCaw's set to play for the All Blacks in the crunch test against the Springboks at Ellis Park the weekend after next.

A leg injury's kept McCaw out since the win over Argentina in Hamilton but he's with the squad as they prepare to play the Pumas in the return fixture this weekend, and it's looking good for his hoped-for return in what's shaping as the Rugby Championship decider.

Assistant All Blacks coach Ian Foster says McCaw's on track and making the expected progress.

McCaw and Aaron Cruden took part in the team's first full training in Argentina.

Cruden's expected to be fit to face Argentina as the All Blacks first five recovers from a knee injury, but he won't play the full game even if he is.
