Malcolm Harris has been appointed the new chief executive of Hockey New Zealand.
Board Chairman Dean Ellwood says Harris has a sound knowledge of sports management gained through many years of involvement in sports sponsorship.
For three years Harris was on the board of Trans-Tasman Netball and more recently was the acting chief executive of Netball New Zealand.
A qualified engineer, his career at Fisher and Paykel Appliances Ltd included positions as General Manager, Global Sales and Marketing and also Chief Operating Officer.
He was also the chief executive of the Auckland-based law firm Meredith Connell.
Harris says he is looking forward to leading a key national sport organisation and continuing to work within sport.
His term starts on October the 24th.
