Cameron-Tua bout promotors confident

8:36 am on 23 July 2009

While debate about the real extent of the green shoots of economic recovery continues the promoters of the bout between heavyweights David Tua and Shane Cameron are confident they can box on through the recession.

Cameron and Tua were at a news conference in Auckland on Thursday to trade the traditional verbal taunts before the so-called Fight of the Century, which was to be held in June until Cameron broke his hand.

Although about 750 premium tickets and some corporate tables are still available, David Higgins of promotors Duco Events is confident all 4000 tickets will be sold before the fight at Mystery Creek on October 3rd.

David Higgins says well over 100 corporate tables have been sold, with the $15,000 ringside tables all gone.
