No plans to move Cronulla, says ARL

The Australian Rugby League chief executive Dave Smith says there are no plans to move Cronulla to Queensland.

League powerbrokers have reportedly discussed the option of relocating the Sharks north of the Tweed should the cash-strapped club be hit with a multi-million dollar fine arising from the ASADA probe into their 2011 supplements programme.

The Sharks are one of the poor relations of the NRL and Smith says the ARL are fully aware of each club's financial health.

He says discussions have taken place about the governance of all 16 clubs, but their are no plans to relocate any team.
