The coach of the New Zealand Breakers says a three-game series against Chinese club the Dongguan Leopards will prepare his team for the start of the National Basketball League next month.
With matches in New Plymouth, Hamilton and Auckland, coach Dean Vickerman says confronting the pace of the Leopards game will be useful.
Leopards coach Brian Goorjian says the series will teach his players better defence.
Goorjian, who won six titles in the NBL before moving to China, says he wants his players to learn from the Breakers' physical style.
The Breakers' first game in the NBL is against Wollongong on October the 10th.
